WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Founded in Melbourne by close friends Rochelle & Rachelle (yes their names are pronounced the same) in 2020, LITTLE BIG CLUB was born from beautiful bonds between mother and child. The wholesome brand honours the bond between LITTLE and BIG – children and mothers, fathers, guardians. The brand was built at a time of great transition for both of our founders. For Rochelle, it was her journey into motherhood that inspired her to create something meaningful for her son. Her hope that we can give our children a world with clearer skies and a cleaner ocean than the version they were born into is what truly motivated her into building a brand that gives back and promises a better future. For Rachelle, it was the heartbreaking transition into mother loss that inspired her to create something that pays tribute to the unbreakable bond she shares with her Mum. The unimaginable loss taught Rachelle that with great love comes a deep sorrow our heart must carry, on your first days in a world that exists without your mother. But her kindness, her caring nature and wisdom live on in a legacy of love that will always be with her children. And with that the brand is built to honour Rachelle’s late mother through its shared values of Love, Connection and Authenticity. 2020 was a year of great changes and new chapters that coincided for both founders and from that LITTLE BIG CLUB was born.

WHAT SUSTAINABILITY MEANS AT LITTLE BIG CLUB

It is one of the fundamental reason why Little Big Club was founded, and at the core of all we aspire to be. Sustainability is at the forefront of every collection, individual garment and a constant topic of conversation with our supply partners. Having both studied and worked in design and production before launching Little Big Club, Rochelle and Rachelle know all too well about the impacts of fast fashion and how the fashion industry contributes daily to our global climate crisis. While we carry this weight on our shoulders, this is the driving factor that pushes us towards our goal of becoming 100% sustainable. At Little Big Club, our ethos is to buy less, so we curate our collections to be beautiful and timeless. Our pieces are purposely relaxed in fit, for comfort, play and room to grow. Every garment is carefully considered and made with only natural fabrics and quality in mind, to ensure they last to be worn often, well-loved and are passed onto siblings and friends.

LITTLE STEPS FOR BIG CHANGE

As we launch our first collection, ‘Nature First’ we are dedicated to and promise to always remain committed to achieving sustainability. Working closely with our supplier, Little Big Club welcomes the use of Organic Cotton and other natural fabrics. Our Organic Cotton is grown without the use of toxic pesticides, we use dyes that are non-toxic and free from harmful chemicals and bleaches, and yes, organic Cotton does have higher water consumption, however 95% of the water used to grow our cotton is rain-fed. All of these processes help promote ecological balance, conserve biodiversity and ecosystems.

As Little Big Club is still in its infancy, we currently work with just one beautiful, family-run and female owned manufacturer in China. We are so grateful for our partnership with them, as we share the same core values and goals for the future. They are equally passionate about creating beautiful, long-lasting garments, and have always shown us their commitment to sustainable practices and are always searching for new ways to minimise waste where possible. Being that we only manufacturer with one supplier, who source our fabrics and trims locally, we are able to minimise our carbon footprint through the reduction of air-freighting and transportation where possible.

Each purchase is hand packed with all of our love from Melbourne; wrapped in our recycled cotton tote (which doubles up at the cutest back-pack for your little one), along side your recycled paper invoice and thank you card including your discount for your next visit, and sent to you in biodegradable compost bags.

OUR CLUB

Thank you to you – because a portion of your purchase supports our ongoing investment into organisations aligned with supporting people and the planet. For every garment that you purchase, we plant one tree with our partnership organisation, One Tree Planted Org. To us, sustainability is more than eco-friendly fabrics and biodegradable packaging, so we will continue on our journey with open hearts, value-driven efforts to always better ourselves and our processes, and a promise for transparency. This may be our LITTLE story, but together we can make BIG changes for a better future for our children.

We are learning every day, but there is always more to be done.

We really appreciate your support. We need each other.

Thank you for joining our club.
